Our family's visit to Nassau Bahamas have been just day trip stopovers while on family cruises, but we have had many an adventure.
The Caribbean has some of the most beautiful, turquoise, clear water.... (see the beautiful shots that my daughter captured below) so, immediately you will want to be in the water swimming or snorkeling. Well, never fear - you will find the opportunity in Nassau.

Blue Lagoon Island - Swim with the Dolphins
Our favorite activity that was part of our Nassau Bahamas Family Vacations
was 'hands down'
Swimming with the Dolphins at Blue Lagoon Island. Blue Lagoon Island
was about a 25 minute boat ride from Nassau. We were greeted by a fabulous
Guide who gave us an informational talk about dolphins, and conservation.
We were then escorted to the areas where we would swim.
The trainers were awesome, and explained everything that they were doing, and how they trained the dolphins to do what they were doing. It was very informational, and FUN!!!
The photo below shows my daughter with a football... the dolphin took the football to the trainer, who then threw the football out a few hundred feet - the dolphin swam out and retrieved the football.

Each participant was able to dance with the dolphins, feed the dolphins (the dolphin actually brought the fish to the participant, and then came back to be fed), hug the dolphins, kiss the dolphins, and ..... be pushed along the water by the dolphins.... the video below is of one of my daughters' being pushed by a dolphin.
Nassau Bahamas Cruise Port Welcome Center

When a cruise ship docks at Nassau, the first view of Nassau is Prince George Wharf - seen here. All cruise ship passengers enter the Wharf Building (the one with the green roof). There are plenty of shops in the Welcome Center, but if you travel outside and head down the waterfront to the Straw Market - near Bay Street.
Here you will find a veritable market of purses, jewelry, and t-shirts.... you will have a wonderful time simply roaming around checking everything out.
