Carnival Glory Cruise Vacation with children | |
| A Carnival Glory Cruise is an excellent Family Vacation option The Glory is a Conquest Class Ship featuring 13 decks and 3 pools.... |

Our family enjoyed our Carnival Glory Cruise in May 2008. On this trip, our family traveled solo - we had 2 adults and 3 children on the trip.
We sailed on the Carnival Glory from Port Canaveral, Florida to the Eastern Caribbean ports of Nassau, Bahamas; St. Thomas, USVI; and St. Maarten, N.A. The children had a ball at all of the destinations as well as aboard the ship during the fun days at sea.
Carnival does a fantastic job keeping everyone occupied while cruising. They have activities for all age groups form young children through adult. It is "hands down" our family's favorite cruise line.
The photo of the Carnival Glory that you see to the right was taken from atop
Paradise Point In St. Thomas, USVI. The Carnival Glory is a magnificent Ship.
The ship is 953 feet long, and has capacity for 2,974 guests and 1,150 crew
members. When the ship is in port, it is a stately portrait seen for many
miles.
The
Carnival Glory has three swimming pools, and a small kiddie wading pool.
The Glory also has a 220 foot water slide. The water slide was a huge hit
among the children and adults alike. The water slide is shown at left.
The pools were busy all the time that they were open, and of course were a big
hit with the children. For those of you who are curious, the pools on
board are filled with salt water.
Each
night in our Carnival Glory Cruise stateroom, we were greeted by a cute
towel animal crafted by our cabin steward. The crew aboard the Glory
was very attentive and always ready to jump up and help the guests in any way
possible. You truly feel spoiled while onboard.
In addition to the great service, and the fantastic pools and waterslide, we would be amiss if we did not mention the fabulous onboard entertainment that awaits you each night after dinner. The entertainment is top-notch. We were treated to seven fantastic live shows featuring singers and dancers, and comedians. If you are fortunate enough to cruise as a family, be sure to take in the entertainment each night.
Now, as I was mentioning the after dinner entertainment, that thought brought to mind the incredible dining room staff and the awesome dinners. Each night at dinner, you will be handed a menu to select an appetizer and entree. After dinner, you will be given a different menu from which to select your dessert. Let me just tell you now, go to dinner hungry, and be sure to try something new. You will be amazed at the cuisine that you will be offered - from broiled lobster to salmon and shrimp, filet mignon, prime rib, pasta dishes, and the list goes on and on.
Speaking of food - to finish off this review, we must mention the Gala Buffet that we were treated to during the cruise. The Carnival Glory Cruise Gala Buffet is amazing. The tables were abounding with an array of food sculptures and ice sculptures that will amaze you. Below are a few pictures of the gala buffet.
To be sure you get the full picture, here is a video of the buffet.....
Carnival Glory Cruise Eastern Caribbean Ports of Call
Nassau Bahamas
During our short stay in Nassau, the girls got to enjoy a fantastic
Swim with the Dolphins,
Our son visited a beach for a nice swim in the Caribbean, and everyone enjoyed
shopping in the area around the Cruise port.
St Thomas USVI
We spent an entire day on St. Thomas. We took a tour with one of the cab drivers that included a stop at
Mountaintop,
home of the world famous Banana Daiquiri. We spent two glorious hours at
Sapphire Beach swimming and snorkeling.... then a quick stop back in town
to ride the
skyride to Paradise Point.
St Maarten N.A.
I think that I enjoyed St Maarten the most out of all the ports of call. We were exhausted during our tour of the island though because
we visited there the day after visiting St. Thomas. The highlight of the trip for me was a stop at the St. Maarten airport where we
swam, and watched a few planes landing. Watching the planes land at this airport is incredible... watch this video....
