A Cincinnati Reds Major League Baseball Vacation | |
| Major League Baseball is a great family vacation idea, and the Cincinnati Reds are located in one of the most kid friendly cities around.... | |
The Cincinnati Reds play baseball in the new Great American Ballpark that is located on the bank of the Ohio River in downtown Cincinnati. The Great American Ballpark opened as the home to the Reds in 2003, after the demolition of Cinergy Field in 2002.
Great American Ballpark is a great place to take in a ballgame. We are fairly close to Cincinnati, Ohio so we make the trip to see the Reds as often as we can.
We have visited Cincinnati several times for games, and have stayed in Cincinnati and in Covington, KY.....
Personally, I like staying in downtown Cincinnati the best because you can walk to the Stadium, as well as all of the downtown shopping and attractions, but I like to walk around and explore new cities.

The times that we have stayed on the Covington side of the river, the rooms have been a little less expensive, and we have been able to take the Southbank Shuttle to the ballpark. The Shuttle is an ultra-convenient way to get the Great American Ballpark from the Covington side of the river.... the cost is only $1 each way per person.... and it runs conveniently every 15 minutes.
Here is some great information that we have gathered to help you plan a family vacation that includes the Cincinnati Reds.

Cincinnati Ohio Information
Cincinnati sits on the Southern tip of Ohio just across the Ohio River from Covington, Kentucky.... Cincinnati is the home to Museums,
Kings Island Theme Park, the Cincinnati Zoo.... plus a host of other great attractions.
While in Cincinnati, before or after the game, you need to try Skyline Chili. It is a unique taste blend of spaghetti noodles, chili, shredded cheese, and onions. In my opinion, it is an acquired taste, but you need to try it. You will find several Gold Star Chili restaurants in the area and around the ballpark.
