Disney Magic Kingdom: Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Enjoy a gentle aerial journey over Fantasyland in Disney Magic Kingdom based on the 1941 Disney animated film, Dumbo!

Sixteen large baby elephant cars with the oversized ears carefully circle a small hot air balloon in this carousel like ride. A figure of Timothy Q. Mouse rides atop the central hub. The figure originally held a training whip, later replaced with the "magic feather." It has since been returned to the whip.

You can control the height of your elephant on this ride. Not a thrill ride by any means, but still exciting for the younger children as is evident by the long lines for this popular attraction. The lines are basically a result of the slow loading of this 2 minute ride. Try and get to this ride one of the first thing you do in the park as the lines can get lengthy or, when staying at a Disney Resort, take advantage of the morning Extra Magic Hour.

The elephant car is just big enough so that an adult and small child can fit comfortably. In the queue there are a few interactive features that are perfect eye level for the little ones which can keep them amused while in line.
