Our family vacations first took us to Disney Animal Kingdom in December 2005.  We found Animal Kingdom especially kid friendly for younger children.  There are animals to see and pet.... and fun rides and shows that especially relate to younger children!  However; if you have older children, be sure to take in the park for Expedition Everest!

The day we visited was rainy, but we wanted to at least see the newest addition to the Disney World theme parks.  The park opened in 1998, but we were unable to visit in the park until this visit.  On this visit, we were able to take in the Kilimanjaro Safaris, but that was about it.... for the 2005 trip.

We visited the park again in December 2006 for a very quick trip over to ride Expedition Everest after spending the day at Disney Hollywood Studios. We also dropped by the Dinosaur ride.  The Dinosaur ride actually tuned out to be a favorite of the group. 

We have spent less time in Disney Animal Kingdom than any of the Disney World Theme Parks.  Each time I visit there I wish I had more time to really roam around and investigate all that the park has to offer.

The Disney characters meet you upon your arrival at the Animal Kingdom Park.  The day we visited the park, and had this photo made, it was winter (even though it was 80 degrees outside), so Minnie Mouse was dressed in her winter attire.

Since we love to visit Disney, we want to visit more than just once, we have found that purchasing a ticket with multiple days on it (ie. a 7 day pass, or a 10 day pass) with the no expiration option will enable us to visit multiple for a much smaller price per day.  You can check out  Discount Disney World Tickets for all of the Disney Ticket options.

Expedition Everest This is Disney's newest thrill ride (as of December 2006).  You are a part of an expedition up Mount Everest in search of Yeti.... you experience forward and backward travel, sharp turns, and many thrills..... fantastic ride - I wish we had had time to ride it more than once.
Dinosaur On this attraction, you are on a voyage through time to the land of the dinosaurs.  The ride is on a Jeep type vehicle that flies through time, visiting the dinosaurs... you are greeted with several that take you by surprise.... it is a great trip.
Kilimanjaro Safaris A real safari - in an open sided safari vehicle.... a fun stop on any of your family vacations.
