The Disney Magic Kingdom opened on October 1, 1971, and covers 107 acres.

The Magic Kingdom is the most famous of the Florida Theme Parks.  The park contained twenty-three attractions on the day it opened, twenty of them copies of attractions at Disneyland - Anaheim, California. 

The Magic Kingdom is the oldest, and by far the most popular of the Disney World Theme Park Attractions.  The centerpiece of the park is Cinderella's castle - pictured at right. 

We have included the Magic Kingdom in our family vacations three times.  Once with our daughter when she was 7, once with all four of our children when the younger children were 5 and 3, and again when the younger children were 11 and 9.  The Magic Kingdom was a favorite on all three of our trips.  The Magic Kingdom has great family vacation attractions for all ages from parades and characters for the younger kids to the major thrill rides such as Space Mountain for the older kids.

Be sure to take time to walk through and look at Cinderella's Castle.

Space Mountain A classic thrill ride - a roller coaster in the dark.  This ride has been around from the beginning, but it is still a crowd favorite.  My kids all love it.
The Haunted Mansion Another classic, but always fun to see.  The kids are always apprehensive about going in, but always love the adventure.
It's a Small World Another Disney Magic Kingdom classic.  Can't you hear yourself singing "It's a small world after all" right now?
Disney's PhilharMagic This is a 3-D "sym-funny" featuring Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, and other Disney favorites.  We enjoyed this program in December 2005, and loved it!! We laughed and laughed.  A great program for all ages.
