In the mood for a lose-your-stomach-fast wooden rollercoaster?
Well, Thunderhead is most definitely for you! Dollywood Theme Park's only wooden rollercoaster, this ride is a crowd (and family) favorite year after year. There is just something about those twists and turns, dips and drops, that never seems to get old.
It is almost hard to believe that Thunderhead is a wooden rollercoaster, as it is just as exciting as any other rollercoaster (Believe me, I've ridden a lot of rollercoasters.)
Being a thrill seeker myself, Thunderhead is hands down my favorite ride in Dollywood. While the wait can get a little lengthy, it is always worth it once it is finally my turn to tame the Thunderhead. I always ride Thunderhead at least five or six times when I come to Dollywood.
From the moment you make the climb up that first hill until you pull back in the station 2 minutes later, your veins are coursing with adrenaline and excitment. You definitely want to check this ride out while you're at Dollywood. It is not one you and your kids want to miss!
