Eating cheaper in Theme Parks

Whenever you are going to a theme park with your family, make sure to eat before you get there.

The food at the theme park is always expensive, and hungry kids are cranky kids. You can choose to allow them to each pick one treat to buy while you're there, but make sure they understand that they only get one before you actually get to the park.

Also, it's a good idea to always bring a few little snacks for your kids to eat during the trip. Carrot sticks are a good choice, as they are not only healthy but also easy to carry. However, they can get slimy if they have been left warm for too long. Little kids love cookies or animal crackers, but they need to be put somewhere where they won't get crushed. The same is true of any snack mix. Other choices of things to bring are M&Ms, gummi snacks of various shapes, rice krispies treats, and bags of dry cereal (cheerios, froot loops, and shredded wheat are good choices for this). It's a good idea to carry them all in a separate container specifically for food, and to let the kids know where it is and provide them access so that they can get to them if they want.

A small cooler, like the kind used to carry bottles, can hold string cheese. Also make sure that you carry drinks too, such as apple juice and water. Kool-aide is also a good choice, such as a box of the pouches you can get at the store. Also make sure that you get a good variety of items, because kids will quickly get bored with the same thing. And don't be afraid to have some yourself!
