Empire State Building New York |
The Empire State Building is a staple of the Kid Friendly New York City Experience. Just about everyone that visits New York City with children visits there!
The state of New York has been one of the most popular family destinations for generations. One of the top attractions it has to offer is the Empire State Bldg. Construction of the building was completed in 1931, standing a quarter of a mile high, and has since become a well-known landmark in New York City. It has been a featured location in many Hollywood films. Nearly 3.5 million people from all over the United States and from other countries visit the building every year. There is something for everybody at the Building.
Family-Friendly Stuff:
- With a New York ExplorerPass, families can proceed to the Building’s observatory on the 86th floor. This place offers a bird’s-eye view of the city and Manhattan. On very clear days even the neighboring states of Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Massachusetts can bee seen.
- One thing not to miss is the
New York SkyRide. A virtual-tour ride, it offers an interactive tour of New York in a surreal dimension.
- An audio tour is a new addition to the Building’s features. Recorded in six languages, it answers the ubiquitous question: “What’s that over there?”
- It is also recommended to visit at night, when the building is adorned in dramatic lighting. The blend of colors adds to the magnificence of this Art Deco building.
- For children, www.esbnyc.com has trivia questions, quiz games and coloring pages that can be printed out to entice them.
Notes:
The ExplorerPass is available in 3, 5, 7, or 10 attraction denominations....
