Generous George's Pizza - kid friendly restaurant near Washington DC

First, let me say that I am not the biggest pizza fan, so finding a pizza joint that is kid friendly conjures up nightmares of Chucky Cheese Birthday Parties with screaming kids and marginal pizza. But after a couple of friends made the recommendation we took the plunge.
Generous George’s Pizza is not a large establishment, and on the weekends it can fill up. We had a short wait of ten minutes on our first trip, but the restaurant had a clown making balloon animals for the kids while we were there. Great! It kept our girls entertained for the entire wait time. The dining room at Generous George's is full of retro tables and chairs and they have all kinds of crazy things hanging from the ceiling like bicycles. There is a fun, old fashioned jukebox as well.
Best of all, the food here is great! Our girls aren’t big eaters, but they enjoyed the pizza and my wife and I loved it. We highly recommend the BBQ chicken pizza. One of the other attractions is the build your own pizza option. Kids can make their own pizza and then have it cooked and served! The crust is thick and the pizzas are definitely large – so you’re likely to take home leftovers. One of the best kid’s restaurants in the Washington D.C. area.
Be aware that parking can be an issue. On one of our visits were got stuck after somebody double parked behind us. They came out right behind us (I think they knew who the car belonged to), but if you show up after 6:30 on a weekend you may have to park nearby and walk to the restaurant.
