We visited the Great America Theme Park Boomerang Bay Water Park while in San Francisco in May 2007. In 2007, we purchased Cedar Fair Maxx Passes while at Carowinds Theme Park, which allow for entrance to any Cedar Fair Park.... so, while in California, we visited the park...... what better way to spend the day!!!
Boomerang Bay is part of the Great America Theme Park - no additional admission price is required. Boomerang Bay Water Park is located at the back of Great America, and has lockers, and several large changing areas. The water park is not as large as many that we have visited, but it has some great rides.
The day that we visited was a warm day, but there always seems to be a breeze in California, so if you were wet, you were cool...
New in 2007 is wave pool, The Great Barrier Reef. We just happened to be visiting on opening day.... and although it was cool outside, the pool was full and people were really enjoying themselves.
Great America Theme Park Boomerang Bay Water Park also offers an area for younger children, and several thrill rides to really add spice to your family vacation stop. Our favorite thrill ride was.... DownUnder Thunder... a two-person tube speeds down a chute, and then glides back up a nearly vertical wall before coasting back to the ground....

Great Barrier Reef Wave Pool
A 355,000 gallon wave pool! It was great fun. This is a new attraction for 2007, and it was packed! The inner tubes had to be rented to be used in the wave pool and the lazy river. |

Downunder Thunder A little different than the ride with the same name at Kings Island Amusement Park Boomerang Bay Water Park. This ride is more like the Tasmanian Typhoon at Kings Island. You are dropped onto an almost vertical wall of water before coasting back to the ground. |
