Kennywood- From My Childhood to My Children
Kennywood Park, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is my kid-friendly park of choice. Having grown up going to this park with my family, I understand its appeal to both children and adults.
I visited Kennywood at least once, usually two or three times, each summer with my family. I have many wonderful memories of riding the roller coasters, staying until the park closed to see all the lights, eating funnel cakes and french fries, and laughing all day!
The park has maintained many of its original attractions including wooden roller coasters, picnic areas, food stands, and beautiful landscaping.
This park is easy to navigate and offers plenty of sitting areas, restrooms, eating facilities and activities for all ages. The park is very secure and employs friendly workers in all areas. The admission prices are reasonable and the park offers many special rates and packages.
Kennywood also offers a wonderful "kiddie land." This area has child-size replicas of many of the parks rides and allows the children to enjoy the thrill of the ups, downs, twists and turn of an amusement park on their own level.
This park is very popular in western Pennsylvania and is often the destination for many school field trips and family reunions, thus causing some crowded days. I would recommend this park to any family.
I look forward to sharing this park with my children and creating new memories with them! Kennywood offers entertainment and fun to persons of all ages and, with Pittsburgh close by, it is the perfect destination for a memorable family trip!
