Mars 2112: Great for Family Dining!
Mars 2112, located at 1633 Broadway in New York City, is a theme-based restaurant that is great for families with young children. You enter the restaurant and go into a virtual reality “space ship.” A video telling you about the restaurant plays while you rock back and forth as if you were on an actual spaceship and were being transported to Mars.
When the video is over, you get seated in a large cavern decorated to look like Mars. Workers dressed in alien costumes walk around to entertain. They will stop and take pictures with guests. Sometimes, they will start to sing and dance. Additionally, there are large televisions throughout the restaurant playing Mars themed clips.
The service is always good; the waiters are attentive and friendly. The food is decent. They have hamburgers, pasta, salads, salmon, corn dogs, macaroni and cheese, and many other options. The portions are large. Mars 2112 offers vegetarian options. The best part of the menu is the desserts! The apple pie is absolutely delicious. For the adults, Mars 2112 offers alcoholic beverages. Prices are average for New York City.
Also, there is a game room for children. The price of admission includes a few free game tokens. You can buy additional tokens if you want. When exiting the restaurant, you go through a gift shop that offers space-themed goodies.
