The Mac & Cheese

In New York City, S'mac (Saritos Mac N Cheese) is a great kid-friendly restaurant. Although it is not big, this east village (345 E 12th Street) gem has the BEST macaroni and cheese I have ever had.

They have basic traditional flavors that will win over the kids, but amazing exotic combinations that I love to eat. The casual (sort of small) restaurant serves all sorts of combinations of macaroni and cheese with all sorts of add-ons and choices. There is, of course, basic ones...but there are low-fat veggie and low-fat cheese combos, or heartier meaty versions of the traditional favorite. Even daring combinations like ones with brie and figs! You can make your own to get just want you want for the picky kids too.

I love this place and would recommend it to everyone- with or without a kid in hand!

Smack is delightful on a cold NY day

My family went to visit Smack and were more than pleasantly surprised to find this one of our favorite local restaurants on one of our visits to NYC.
This restaurant is a local favorite with the college age kids, families, as well as people of all ages. There were many varieties of dishes to choose from and although the restaurant was not very large, the traffic never stopped. It was simply that good! Having some tasty homemade mac 'n cheese on a very cold November afternoon was completely delightful!
