Clothes:
Dress for the occasion. It may be helpful to dress her in clothes that are easy to remove. If you are going to be out in the sun, keep her covered and out of direct sunlight. You may consider carrying an umbrella, so as to block glaring sun rays from irritating her delicate skin. For children above the age of six months, it is recommended to apply a light sun protection cream, wherever out in the sun.
Carry clothes that are easy to wear, take less space and allow free movements of your child. It is always better to carry few extra clothes, when it comes to children. Choose clothes that are bright to enhance the holiday mood. Clothes with tiny pockets are wonderful ways to keep your child occupied. Let her pick some unusual interesting things to stuff her pockets with. Otherwise you can stuff them with candies too.
Food:
It is the most essential item while traveling with kids. Carry lots of finger foods that are less messy. Carry healthy snacks and may be even unhealthy snacks-items that you may want to avoid at home but on a vacation you may want to be a little lenient.
Pack them in hygienic unbreakable containers which are easy to handle and light weight too. It would be a good idea to carry bowls with sliding lids. Carry extra spoons and forks because it is quite likely that she might drop spoons and forks once or twice. You can simply wrap the dirty ones in a napkin and get them washed later.
When you are traveling during summer months, you have to have a good supply of drinks as well. Use sippers with tight lids and preferably those with separate tiny lid for the sipping end. This way you can ensure that the area she puts in her mouth is never dirty. Keep enough disposable wipes ready to handle any accidental spill easily.
