Washington DC Monuments |
One of the first things that I think of when I think of Washington DC is the Monuments. They are a part of our history, our heritage.... no trip to Washington is complete without visiting these historic sites. We have visited the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial so far on our family vacations.
There is nothing like the view from the Lincoln Memorial, past the Reflecting Pool to the Washington Monument, and then on to the U.S. Capitol Building.... it is magnificent.
As it turns out, each time our family vacations have taken us to Washington DC, the weather has either been really cool, or really hot, so I have not been able to take the time to walk from the Lincoln Memorial to the U. S. Capitol, but that is something that is real close to the top of my list of things to do... The walk between the two monuments is approximately two miles.
